Greater Niagara Fishing Expo (Niagara Falls, NY): Seminars, Vendors & Rod-Holder Setup Guide
What the Greater Niagara Fishing Expo is
The Greater Niagara Fishing Expo is, in its own words, "a pure fishing show designed by anglers for anglers with the simple goals of promoting and teaching fishing" — "Niagara's largest fishing expo," held annually at the Niagara Falls Convention Center (NFCC) in downtown Niagara Falls, NY. Its 10th-annual announcement highlights over 200 seminars led by local, regional, and national experts, all included with the price of admission.
That education-first, 200-seminar format draws anglers who came to learn technique — exactly the crowd that goes home and rebuilds a rig the right way.
Why it matters for how you rig
Niagara sits on the Niagara River and the Lower Great Lakes, where the signature fisheries — walleye and salmon (plus steelhead, trout, bass, and muskie) — are trolling and drift fisheries that lean on rod holders harder than almost anywhere. A walleye spread of boards and holders, or a salmon program of downriggers, dipsy divers, and lead core, only works if every rod sits at a controlled angle and stays locked when a fish loads it. That's the whole reason Monster Rod Holders are Made in the USA from heavy-gauge stock — to take a hard Great Lakes strike without flinching.
If a seminar gets you rethinking your setup, the building blocks are:
- Holders from the rod-holder lineup — matched to station (downrigger corner, side diver, board rod, gunwale).
- Bases from the bases category — the part that makes the spread no-flex and repeatable across the boat.
- Racks & T-Bars from the racks and T-bars category — the backbone of a big trolling spread.
- A HydroWeb landing net for getting a fresh walleye, king, or steelhead boatside and handled clean.

Walleye and salmon — the Great Lakes trolling fit
The Niagara region is where MRH's trolling content lands squarely:
- Walleye trollers — boards and holders covering the river and lake; see the walleye rod-holder setup guide.
- Great Lakes salmon trollers — downriggers, divers, and lead core for kings, coho, and steelhead; see the Great Lakes salmon trolling setup guide.
