Fayetteville Fishing Expo (Crown Expo Center): Vendors, Seminars & Rod-Holder Setup Guide
What the Fayetteville Fishing Expo is
The Fayetteville Fishing Expo bills itself, in its own words, as "the LARGEST Fishing Show Fayetteville has ever seen" — a 3-day show at the Crown Expo Center in Fayetteville, NC with over 75 vendors. The official copy describes "TRUCKLOADS" of brand-name and custom fishing tackle, electronics, apparel, fishing guides, and a full boat floor — aluminum jon boats, bass boats, family pontoons, and center consoles for inshore, nearshore, and offshore. Your ticket is good all three days, with a return pass available at the exit door.
Admission is $10 adults, $9 seniors/military, and $6 for Jr Anglers (6–12). The show also runs a seminar schedule with presenters, so it's both a buy-the-gear floor and a learn-the-technique stop.
Why it matters for how you rig
Fayetteville sits in a part of the Carolinas where anglers run the full spread — channel and blue catfish, crappie, bass, and a short drive to inshore saltwater. Every one of those techniques lives or dies on rod control, which is the whole reason Monster Rod Holders are Made in the USA from heavy-gauge stock: a holder has to lock the rod butt, hold its angle under sustained load, and shrug off spray, mud, and a hard strike.
If a seminar or a vendor table gets you rethinking your setup, the building blocks are:
- Holders from the rod-holder lineup — matched to how you fish (catfish spread, crappie spider-rig fan, bank spike, boat rail, inshore rail).
- Bases from the bases category — the part that makes the setup no-flex and repeatable across the boat.
- Anchors for holding a current seam, a river hole, or a structure edge where fish stage.
- A HydroWeb landing net for getting a big channel cat, a slab crappie, or an inshore fish boatside and handled clean.
(Confirm exact product names/links with Ron — see the TODO list in the frontmatter.)
Catfish, crappie, bass, inshore — who the show suits
A big, multi-discipline show like Fayetteville fits more of MRH's audience than a single-species event:
- Catfish anglers — bank or boat, the holder has to survive a big-cat run; see the catfish boat-setup guide.
- Crappie spider-riggers — a clean front-deck spread is the difference between a tangle and a pattern; see the crappie rod-holder setup guide.
- Bass and hybrid/striper anglers — a trolling or drift spread that covers water; see the hybrid striped bass gear guide.
- Inshore anglers — rail-mounted holders that keep rods set while you work a tide.

Plan your trip
- Where: Crown Expo Center, Fayetteville, NC.
- When: late January / early February — re-check the official site (fayettevillefishingexpo.com) for the current year's dates before you go (the show is annual and the listing year was in transition at the time of writing).
- Admission: $10 adults, $9 seniors/military, $6 Jr Anglers (6–12); ticket good all 3 days with a return pass.
- Who it's for: Carolina anglers who want a big vendor floor plus seminars — catfish, crappie, bass, and inshore all under one roof.
Built heavy, Made in the USA, and built for the catfish-crappie-bass-and-inshore water this show serves — that's the rod-holder setup to walk the floor thinking about.
